If it’s a little too cold for a t-shirt, then sweaters are also a great match for pleated skirts. If your sweater is thin and plain, you can style it in many of the same ways you would style a t-shirt.
However, we love matching chunky and oversized knits with ankle-length maxi skirts! This gives a look that is not only stylish and cute but also warm!
Depending on your personal tastes, you can tuck the ends of an oversized sweater into your waistband or leave it loose with a belt to add some shape to your waist.
This winter look can be finished with some warm tights underneath and a pair of boots. Ankle boots are great but we particularly love wearing knee-high boots. Depending on the style of your sweater, you may be able to wear this in a business-casual office.

If you’re looking for something that is more business casual than strictly casual, then a simple button-down shirt matches perfectly with pleated skirts.
This is a great look for any office that doesn’t insist on business suits and we also love this style for a daytime date! It’s best with a crisp white shirt and you should tuck the shirt into your skirt.
We’d recommend matching them with plain colored skirts in more common colors such as black or navy. Like a sweater, this combination looks great with some boots. Match it with either a maxi or midi pleated skirt and for cooler weather, add a light trench coat.

For example, white lace tops are best suited to lighter-colored pleated skirts. Opt for pastel-colored midi skirts that are in delicate shades of lavender, pink, blue, and peach.
If you have a black lace top, however, this will work best with darker-colored midi-skirts. For example, look for skirts that are emerald green, dark purple, or wine red.
Darker lace tops and pleated skirts look great with either heels or knee-high boots. On the other hand, lighter tops and skirts are best with heels.
